SkyserviceMe is a free educational learning management system operated by ValleyTori, built for students and staff at Valley Christian High School. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the SkyserviceMe platform.

2. Information We Collect

When you use SkyserviceMe, we collect the following information:

  • Account Information: Email address (your @warriorlife.net, @valleytori.com, or whitelisted email), username, and display name you choose during account setup.
  • Content Data: Any study materials, notes, activities, forum posts, and other educational content you create or contribute to the platform.
  • Activity Data: Experience points (XP), login streaks, content edit history, activity completion records, and timestamps of your interactions.
  • Authentication Data: Login times and one-time passcode (OTP) verification records. We do not store passwords as we use a passwordless OTP authentication system.
  • Technical Data: IP addresses are processed by Cloudflare for security and performance purposes. We do not directly store raw IP addresses in our application database.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Authentication: To verify your identity and provide secure access to your account via email-based OTP codes.
  • Platform Functionality: To power features such as leaderboards, XP tracking, streak counts, content attribution, and user profiles.
  • Accountability: To maintain edit histories, audit logs, and content attribution so that contributions are properly tracked and moderated.
  • Communication: To send login codes via email. We do not send marketing or promotional emails.

4. Third-Party Services

SkyserviceMe uses the following third-party services:

  • Cloudflare: Provides CDN, DDoS protection, and security services. Cloudflare processes IP addresses and sets cookies (cf_clearance, __cf_bm) for security and analytics purposes. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Railway: Our hosting platform where the application and database are deployed. See Railway's Privacy Policy.
  • Resend: Used to send authentication emails (OTP login codes). Your email address is shared with Resend solely for email delivery. See Resend's Privacy Policy.

5. Content Attribution

When you create or edit content on SkyserviceMe, your username is displayed as the author or contributor. Edit histories are maintained to ensure academic integrity and proper attribution. Content you create may be viewed by other users of the platform.

6. Advertising

SkyserviceMe does not display advertisements. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use any advertising tracking technologies.

7. Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account remains active. Content contributions (activities, edits, forum posts) are retained as part of the educational resource library even if your account is deleted, though they may be anonymized. Audit logs and ban records are retained for platform integrity purposes.

8. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us at [email protected]. Upon request, we will delete your personal account information. Please note that contributed educational content may be retained in an anonymized form to preserve the learning resources for other users.

9. Information for Minors

SkyserviceMe is designed for use by high school students at Valley Christian High School. We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate the platform. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age. 10. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption, HttpOnly authentication cookies, and secure OTP-based authentication. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of SkyserviceMe after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
